The Henley Fours & Eights will be held on Saturday 13th February 2016, This year in 2 Divisions 10:30 and 1:30.
Our focus for this event is sweep oar rowing, however sculling opportunities are included for the younger element.
Following an inspection this afternoon it is clear that the stream and river levels are too high for our event to proceed safely and this is unlikely to change before Saturday. Also ground conditions are poor and there are moderately strong easterly winds forecast which are not pleasant on our reach even in good conditions. Conditions also make it impossible for us to move our boating stages into position...this is a long list...
We have therefore, very sadly, taken the decision to cancel our event this year.
Thank you all for your entries, it would have been a great day... Please come and see us again next year...
Submitting Entry Administrators will be contacted directly, by email, concerning refunds (please wait to hear from me).
REFUNDS HAVE NOW ALL BEEN PROCESSED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE (7/4/16)
Important information & request for this year...
As part of the competitions review British Rowing are creating a ranking index, formed from individual athlete profiles taken from times throughout the Head season across all events. Therefore it is important that YOU report ALL substitutions, via BROE please, as rankings will be affected by finishing position, NOT JUST WINS!
Unreported substitutions will, or may, affect your athletes future racing status.
We will publish "provisional" results via the website during the day (so do bring your smart phone...)
Final results will, as ever, be posted following the conclusion of racing.
Parking: Details will appear here but we strongly encourage competitors and spectators to Car Share and minimise vehicles.
Trailers: Please be aware that we only have access to regatta land on the day of our event. Gates open at 7:30 am. Please do NOT arrive before this. This also applies to Leander's Carpark which is the property of HRR.
We are grateful for the support of the Stewards of Henley Royal Regatta and ask for your cooperation to help us maintain this.
Gazebos: Please also note that visitors to/competitors at our event are not permitted to erect any gazebos or little tents on HRR land
