Henley Sculls 2019

Henley Sculls is scheduled to take place on Saturday 9th November 2019.

We will, once again, be running over a course of approximately 3,000 metres upstream from the bottom of Greenlands to the Royal Regatta finish.  We look forward to having you racing with us.

It is with regret that we need to advise Henley Sculls is
Having assessed conditions we deemed this the safest option. The river continues to be on Red boards. We have serious concerns around marshaling in such strong stream conditions and have some logistical difficulties around setting up the facilities. 
There is unfortunately nothing to suggest that conditions will improve in the next 48 hours and a good possibility that they will deteriorate following last nights rain.
Not a decision which anyone likes to make but we hope you will appreciate us making the call early to enable travel and other arrangements to be cancelled.
We wll look forward to seeing you in February for our Sweep Event. 

REFUNDS: Thank you for your patience. 
Due to early cancellation we have, fortunately, been able to mitigate the vast majority of our costs. However some are always unavoidable.  We do, as you know, reserve the right to retain a small percentage of entry fees to cover these. (See event poster.) 
Having assessed our position, refunds have been made of 93%.

Results: We aim to publish "live times"  during the day (so do bring your smart phone...). I would stress that these are PROVISIONAL and subject to correction and handicapping may not yet have been done.
Final results will, as ever, be posted following the conclusion of racing.
Parking: Wstrongly encourage competitors and spectators to Car ShareThere will be a £5/charge for parking for all cars including those carrying boats (Towing vehicles, Coaches/Minibuses exempted). The aim of this charge is to encourage car sharing and reduce the numbers of vehicles on site. Excessive numbers of vehicles I'm afraid cause us issues in terms of space, managing ground conditions and subsequent repair costs. We need to noticeably and significantly reduce the number of cars. (There will be an entrance and separate exit to facilitate drop offs, please follow the normal circulation entering through the gate behind Leander Club.)
Trailers: Please be aware that we only have access to regatta land on the day of our event. Gates open at 7:30 am. Please do NOT arrive before this. This also applies to Leander's Car park which is the property of HRR.
We are grateful for the support of the Stewards of Henley Royal Regatta and ask for your cooperation to help us maintain this.
Gazebos: Please also note that visitors to/competitors at our event are not permitted to erect any gazebos or little tents on HRR land. Neither should any pvt BBQs be lit on site. (We do have a refreshment tent.)

Bicycles: Coaches and cyclists please be considerate of all other towpath users. No cycling in the enclosures and be aware that much of our towpath is fenced and narrow.
